The Design Village Organizes an International Cultural Exchange

As a part of the cultural exchange Programme, The Design Village (TDV) organize a workshop in collaboration with Střední škola odevniho designu Kateřinky, Czech Republic, Europe.

A group of 6 Students, 2 Teachers, and 2 Indian Representatives attended the workshop at TDV. This exchange aimed to introduce the understanding of Indian culture, the importance of craftsmanship, and sustainability in design.

Mudita Pasari, Academic Dean at The Design Village quoted, “such cultural exchanges are integral to the learning process. At TDV we are proud to be at the nexus of international conversations on sustainability and design.” Facilitators at TDV gave presentations to the students about Indian culture, and sustainable initiatives designed and implemented by Design Villagers.

The visit was concluded with student discussions followed by a live workshop on contemporary surfaces that allowed learners to further understand the details and intricacy of traditional Indian craft techniques.

Through the exchange programs, students from overseas institutes were briefly exposed to Indian culture, design education in India, and the importance of heritage sustainable practices. At TDV, international exchange is considered a valuable part of learning as it supports cross-cultural collaborations, understanding attributes of global practices with respect to ideologies, typologies as well as best practices followed in the profession.

Students of TDV are set to benefit from exposure to exclusive exchange programs that will provide global opportunities for them.
