The District Collector of Thiruvannamalai has announced that citizens belonging to minority communities can apply for personal and educational loans.
The notification released by the Thiruvannamalai District Collector mentioned:
“Under the Tamil Nadu Minority Community Economic Development Council, facilities are available to avail personal loans, small industry-related loans for self-help groups, loans for the handicraft artists, and educational loans are offered.
To avail of the personal loan under the personal loan scheme, the annual income MUST not exceed Rs. 120000/- for urban areas and Rs. 98000/- in rural areas.
To avail of the loan facility for small industries, the annual family income MUST not be above Rs. 800000/-.
Personal loans are offered at the annual interest rate of 6% for a maximum loan amount of Rs. 20 Lakhs. Under the Small industries loan scheme, a maximum loan amount of Rs. 30 Lakhs is offered.
A maximum loan of Rs. 10 Lakhs is offered for handicraft artists.
For self-help groups, a maximum loan of Rs. 1 Lakh per person is offered at an annual interest rate of 7%.
For the students belonging to the minority communities, studying graduate & postgraduate technology courses under the government-approved educational institutions, a maximum personal loan of Rs. 20 Lakhs is offered. Under the small-scale industry scheme, a maximum loan of Rs. 30 Lakhs is offered for the students.
While applying for education loan, copies of the Original Transfer Certificate, Receipt for payment of the academic fees, or challan, and the marks certificate MUST be submitted.”
