iAdopt, a new-age non-profit organisation that is transforming the concept of “owning a pet” to “adopting a pet”, is conducting a pet adoption drive called `Paw-llywood Fest` on October 8-9 and October 15-16 at CERC Campus, Kalakshetra Road, Opp Pamban Swamy Temple, Thiruvanmiyur. This drive is aimed at homing Indian Mongrel pups, dogs, kittens and cats.
It all began several years ago when a handful of animal lovers and activists came together to help street dogs and cats find better homes. The team gradually set up efficient screening and adoption processes in place to protect the animals against unforeseen incidents.
In 2020, iAdopt was officially registered as an NGO, and the team began conducting adoption drives across Chennai. The team believes in responsible pet parenting and has introduced an innovative foster-based animal adoption procedure without practically having a shelter. iAdopt`s team has independently homed 800+ pups, kittens and dogs in the last three years.
Besides they have also worked closely with other pet adoption groups to help them with their adoption activities, and in educating families on various aspects involving pets.
This month, the organisation is conducting one of their biggest adoption drives and pet fests in the CERC Campus (Kalakshetra Exhibition Grounds). Families interested can walk in with their valid ID / Address proof along with their house video to adopt or foster dogs and cats of various age groups starting from 2 months onwards.
The Paw-llywood Fest is also an opportunity for businesses to spread awareness about their pet friendly brand. The organisation offers space for store owners or managers to set up stalls. All rents from these stalls will be used towards the welfare of dogs and cats in need
