From Wednesday onwards, admission under RTE or Right to Education Act 2009 for entry levels classes at the private matriculation schools would start in Tamil Nadu.
It is well known to us that under RTE Act 25% of the seats in the entry level classes in the private schools would have to be reserved for the students belonging to the economically weaker sections.
The Directorate of Matriculation Schools Mr. Karuppuswamy has mentioned that parents would have to apply online at dedicated websites for RTE admissions and the applications could be submitted till 18th of May 2022.
In the website, www.rte.tnschools.gov.in, the list of schools would be uploaded and parents would be able to check the seats available for their kids in the schools in their districts from the website. It must not be forgotten that in the last year nearly 1.08lakhs seats were available under the RTE Act across private schools in TN.
