These foods might be bitter to taste but they are fantastic for our health!!

If you do not like to eat foods like bitter gourd, amla, jamun, methi etc, then you are not alone!!

Many of us like only those foods that are good to taste and ignore other foods that are not good for the taste buds. Not many of us would know that even foods that are not good to taste might be good for our health.

There are foods that are not good to taste but very good for our health and these are

Amla or Indian gooseberry:

Rich in antioxidants and vitamin C etc amla or Indian gooseberry is a sour and bitter fruit. Truth is that amla has immune boosting, anti-inflammatory properties etc in them. It can be consumed fresh or dried or in the form of juice, pickle etc.

Aloe vera:

Aloe vera is bitter in taste and is rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants etc. It is noteworthy that aloe vera is used for treating digestive issues, skin conditions etc. Our overall health would be promoted.

Turmeric or haldi:

Yellow in colour with earthy flavour, turmeric has cucurmin in it. It must be noted that cucurmin has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties in it.

Neem:

Bitter in taste, neem leaves have anti-inflammatory and anti microbial properties in them. When consumed by us, neem leaves would help in digestion, support the immune system etc.

Bitter gourd or karela:

Bitter gourd is an important vegetable as it is rich in minerals, vitamins and antioxidants and low in calories etc. By eating this vegetable, our blood sugar levels would get regulated. In addition to this, our digestion would become better and immunity would get boosted etc.

Methi or fenugreek:

They are rich in fibres, minerals and vitamins etc and when consumed manages blood sugar effectively. It is a known fact that Fenugreek is bitter to taste.

Jamun or Indian black plum:

It must be noted that jamun have both sweet as well as bitter taste and are rich in antioxidants, minerals and vitamins etc. Intake of jamun would help us to manage blood sugar well due to its antidiabetic property. It can be consumed fresh or used to make jams, jellies etc.
